Education

I earned my Masters of Science in Chemistry from The University of Alabama at Birmingham in Birmingham, Alabama. I earned my Bachelors of Science in Chemistry from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. I earned my Associates of Criminal Justice and Forensic Science from Ogeechee Technical College in Statesboro, Georgia.



Experience

  I taught Chemistry at Jefferson State Community College as an Adjunct Instructor for one year.  I was a Graduate Teaching Assistant at UAB where I taught Introduction to Organic Chemistry labs under the mentorship of Dr. Craig McClure for five years.  I was a Teaching Assistant at GSU for several labs and had several teaching mentors over the course of three years.  A few of the labs I assisted with were Biochemistry, Nutritional Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry and Nursing Chemistry.  My teaching mentors were Dr. Karen Welch, Dr. Schmidt and Dr. Laura Frost.



Bio

I am from Savannah, Georgia.  I am the youngest of four children and I am the only girl.  My mother is a retired RN and my father is a retired Nursing Home Administrator.  I am married to James Brown and we had a little girl (Evelyn) in November of 2016.  I also inherited Bella a spunky 5 year old, Xavier a precocious 7 year old, Noah a high energy 8 year old, Hunter a gentle and helpful 10 year old and Akila a pre-teen 11 year old.
